Finally, «The Biennial Reader» has arrived! This anthology on the global biennial phenomenon contains 512 pages of texts by leading scholars, curators, critics, and thinkers from around the world.
With its massive manuscript as our starting point, we created a grid that would allow for high readability, lots of open space, and enough variation in spread layouts to give it an interesting feel throughout the book. The design was inspired by that of old-school academic textbooks, combined with contemporary characteristics and details. Carefully selecting the paper, we managed to create a book that looks big and content-rich, but still feels light to the hand.
The Biennial Reader is printed and published by Hatje Cantz, and will be available for purchase before the end of august. The official launch will be held during «Art Basel Miami Beach», December 2010.
