«1000 Beats / 1 Beat» is an art project by german artist Pieterjan Ginckels, collaborating with producer Christian Vogel and Grandpeople to make a 7" vinyl record. The record consists of one simple beat, which is looped. Grandpeople made the artwork for the record sleeve. The record was the main element in an art project «touring» around Europe. Visitors to his exhibition had the chance to play the record on several turntables at the same time, at different speeds, creating different rythms. Visitors was in control of the music, in opposite to how the music industry usually works. The cover artwork is a simple, abstract representation of a diamond.
