Dystopia

Author Terje Torkildsen wrote Dystopia as a four piece science fiction story, taking place in the not so distant future of 2014. A group of school kids on a trip to London wakes up one morning to find the city in devastation as a terrible wave has laid most of Europe in ruins. During these four books we follow the young protagonists on their long journey home. The target audience is youth between 13–17, and the author was especially concerned with reaching out to boys. Since this particular segment hardly ever read books we had to develop a certain iconography that would take the audience seriously. Dystopia became our homage to this particular genre of dystopian sci-fi film and literature, laden with heavy symbolism. The broken circle is a metaphor for a dysfunctional society and an ecological equation that doesn't add up.
