Geitungen
Album cover for contemporary folk music
«Langt ute» is the third release from this eccentric folk trio. A translation of the title is «Far out», an expression that also serves as a conceptual reference, both in the geographical and metaphysical sense of distant travel. In Norway, folk music can be pretty serious and self aware, and we wanted to create a story by approaching the genre from an alternative point of view. We were looking for the psychedelic link between traditional craft, folk-art and nomadic life on one side, and the experimental lifestyle of hippie communes, beatniks and jazz on the other.
We were particularly satisfied with the photographic location, a forest still scared by the flames from the old stave church burned by local satanists in 1992.
