Transformers

With emphasis on the social aspect of architecture, rather than the technical, Bergen School of Arcitecture stands out in the world of architecture schools. The title of the 2012 diploma exhibition, Transformers, was chosen to signify the graduates´ ability to transform housing situations and landscapes to benefit the users.

With a title so heavily loaded with pop cultural connotations, we decided to play along with it, instead of claiming the word as our own. Our goal was to balance the pop cultural connotations with the academic aspect of a architecture diploma exhibition. The thick outline, dot-pattern and 3D-extrusion are common tools in cartoons, but has a different effect when set in a tight grid with straight lines.
